WITC Board of Trustees Responsibilities

Each technical college district determines its own board member responsibilities. Generally, the duties of district board members are to:

• Provide governance for the college
• Attend monthly board meetings
• Represent the college at state and national meetings
• Be involved in the life of the college
• Perform other duties

Many opportunities exist for greater professional development. Attending quarterly meetings of the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association can broaden your understanding of the technical college system and enable you to see the "big picture." In addition, you can attend conferences of the Association of Community College Trustees to get a national perspective.
